This year, the organization a World Without Gag (UMSM) with the Support of Amnesty International, in association with the French Embassy in Venezuela, David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies of the Harvard University, and the Social network Twitter, perform the second edition of The Right Cut, an international contest of short films that aim to educate, promote, denounce and solidarity in the field of human rights. The Right Cut seeks to exploit each participant’s talent through an audiovisual that allows them to raise their voices against the violation of the free exercise of rights and, at the same time, can create stories capable to generate sensitivity and empathy in the spectator.

The competition will have three Main awards: “Best Short Film Award French Embassy by the Human Rights and Democracy”, “Best Short Film Social Network Award Twitter For Freedom of Speech” and “Best Short Film David Rockefeller Award Center for the fundamental Right to Education”. In Addition, the short film with the most “I like” on the contest page and retweets will also be rewarded.
Participants will have from the next April 22nd to September 6th, to send their short film. The short film submitted must have a title; the orientation should answer the subject of the contest, which is any point of view from that it reflects in some way the right to freedom of expression. The participation of documentaries will be considered as valid that have been made from the 1st of January of the year 2016 to the present.
